Ladies In Waiting would like to promote the Ilkley Dementia Café, which brings a great source of support and comfort to those effected by the condition. Please contact the Bradford Branch of The Alzheimers Society via email for details.

Volunteer: Dementia Café, Ilkley, Bradford
Job Role: Early Memory Support Group Volunteer

What will I be doing?
Help set up the room or any activities that have been agreed to take place.
Help serve and clear away refreshments.
Talking and listening to people with dementia and their carers and helping them to engage with activities.

Where will I be volunteering?
Clarke Foley Centre, Cuncliffe Road, Ilkley

How does this role make a difference?
This role provides an opportunity for people with dementia, their families and carers to express themselves, have tea, cakes and chat and socialise with others in a fun and supportive way. There is access to information, advice and support.

How much time do you expect me to commit?
3 hours approximately
The Ilkley cafes run from 1.30 – 3.30 on the second Tuesday and the 4th Wednesday of each month.

How do I apply?
